Terms of Service

By accessing or using DOCUMENTFORGE (the "Service"), operated as a Sole Proprietorship in India, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Security Architecture disclosures. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and applicable rules thereunder.

DOCUMENTFORGE is a document processing platform that allows users to convert, compress, repair, merge, split, and otherwise transform PDF and document files using automated software. The Service is available in two tiers:

• Free Plan — available without registration (anonymous) or with an account. Subject to daily and monthly quota limits.
• Pro Plan — available with an active paid subscription via our billing partner, Cashfree Payments India Pvt. Ltd. Provides higher quotas, larger file size limits, and longer file retention.

You agree that you will:

• Only upload files that you own or have the legal right to process.
• Not upload malicious files, executable payloads, or any content designed to compromise our systems.
• Not attempt to circumvent quota limits through multiple accounts or other means.
• Not attempt reverse engineering, denial-of-service attacks, or automated scraping of the Service.
• Provide accurate information when creating an account.
• Keep your account credentials secure and notify us of any suspected unauthorised access.
• Comply with all applicable Indian laws including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

Document processing is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that processing will succeed for all files.

• Corrupted, DRM-protected, password-locked, or non-standard files may fail or produce partial results.
• We provide descriptive error feedback to assist troubleshooting where possible.
• Processing may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance or system issues.

Your plan tier determines the following limits:

Quota limits reset daily at midnight UTC and monthly on the 1st of each month UTC. Attempting to bypass quotas via multiple accounts or API manipulation is prohibited and may result in account suspension.

Paid subscriptions are processed by Cashfree Payments India Pvt. Ltd.. By subscribing, you also agree to Cashfree's Terms of Service.

• The Pro plan is billed monthly. The current price is displayed on the checkout screen before you complete payment.
• Subscriptions are recurring. Your subscription will automatically renew each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Pro entitlements become active once payment is confirmed via our billing provider's webhook. Browser return alone does not activate Pro.

You retain all ownership of and intellectual property rights in the files you upload. By uploading a file, you grant us a temporary, limited licence solely to process the file as requested. This licence terminates when the file is deleted per the retention schedule.

The DOCUMENTFORGE platform, software, design, and trademarks are owned by the Service operator and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform without written permission.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, the operator of DOCUMENTFORGE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, files, or revenue. Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or ₹500, whichever is greater.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you materially breach these terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if required by law.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@documentforge.tech. On account closure, your personal data and files will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to any retention required by law.

These Terms are governed by Indian law, including the Information Technology Act 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and applicable rules thereunder. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [OWNER: Specify court jurisdiction city], India. Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith by contacting us at support@documentforge.tech.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" will be updated on this page. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will endeavour to notify registered users by email.
